Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping Therapy
At your first appointment, your Physical Therapist will perform a thorough evaluation and develop a personalized rehabilitation treatment program with you that may include Kinesiotaping/McConnell taping Therapy.
WHAT Is Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping Therapy?
Kinesio Tape (KT), or kinesiology tape, is a newly popularized modality that is used by therapists trained in the Kinesio Taping Method by Certified Kinesio Taping Instructors (CKTI).
Kinesio Tape is a latex-free hypoallergenic cotton fiber tape with an acrylic heat-activated backing that stretches only along its longitudinal axis.
The McConnell Taping Method is a technique that tapes body parts to affect a specific biomechanical movement.
Benefits of Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping:
It is more economical over time than other modalities, it is easy to learn and apply, there are less types of tape, and it may be used over a longer period of time. The Kinesio Taping Method differs from athletic strapping tape and the traditional McConnell Taping Method.
The McConnell Taping Method is a technique that tapes body parts to affect a specific biomechanical movement.
McConnell Tape uses a very rigid, highly adhesive tape that is applied for no more than 18 hours and often for shorter periods of time due to patient discomfort.

What Our Clients Say
I’ve had a lot of PT over many years and never have I worked with a more knowledgeable and talented team of therapists. After 20+ years and a half dozen surgeries I am near pain-free thanks to one excellent surgeon and three outstanding PT professionals. Steve, Sarah and Mike are patient, persistent, motivating and encouraging; and Lisa is kind and effective at keeping up the business end. On top of all that they’re just great folks. For me PT always fell somewhere between a bore and chore, whereas SEPT was very nearly the social event of the week. Don’t get me wrong – it’s still PT and it’s still tough – but they’ll strive to make it a positive experience. In summary: If I ever need PT again, I’ll get it here if I have to drive 100 miles to do it.
